the human soul

FOR THIS BRIEF WE WERE GIVEN THE CHOICE TO PICK ANY “OBJECT” THAT WE SEE EVERYDAY. SOMETHING MONOTONOUS. MY FIRST PAGE INCLUDES MY INITIAL MINDMAP OF OPTIONS I WAS CONSIDERING CHOOSING BUT MY HEART HAD ALREADY SET ITS SIGHTS ON “THE HUMAN SOUL”.

aFTER ALL, eVERYONE INTERACTS WITH THEIR SOUL AND OTHERS EVERY DAY. WELL, THAT IS IF YOU BELIEVE IN IT AS A CONCEPT. TO ME, A SOUL IS PROOF OF CONNECTION, AND I SET OFF INTO THIS PROJECT TO PROVE THAT.

INITIALLY, MY FIRST INSIGHT WAS THE “RED STRING OF FATE” WHICH IS A PIECE OF FOLKLORE THAT HAS PASSED THROUGH MANY CULTURES. MANY CULTURES LONG FOR THE PROOF OF CONNECTION, AND A LOVE STORY BETWEEN SOULS DEFInitely puts that on show. such a bold and bright display of love is of course contagious, which is why it has remained to cling onto relevancy.

After, i asked around for film suggestions, and i got told to watch “the boy and the heron” or its alternate title “how do you live?” by studio ghibli. Generally i have not been a big ghibli fan just because i havent watched a good portion of their films, however this film really hit me deep. its a beautiful story about how love and happiness will always be coupled with tradgedy and loss, but thats just how life is. About how we must just keep on living despite it all. there is really a lot to unpack in the film due to the insane amount of refrences etched into it, so i attempt at unearting and taking a crack at it myself on the next few pages.

live well / breathe more / look up / feel the air / love freely / show emotion / explode on contact / deny everything
